The Awesome CAMu Team
We are a small team of dedicated professionals with a common goal of moving additive manufacturing forward with our products, services and research activities. We love what we do, and we do it with passion. We look forward to working with you.
President / Co-founder
Bob has a B.A.Sc. and an M.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and has been developing CAD/CAM software since his first co-op term in the 1980’s. He enjoys designing and building things, grassroots motorsports and riding funny bicycles.
Vice-president / Co-founder
Dr. (Ruth) Jill Urbanic is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Automotive, and Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor. Her research focuses on advanced process design and manufacturing technologies. She likes to design and build things. This includes sketching, painting, landscape designs as well as eclectic multi-disciplinary engineering design projects. She is the recipient of both research and teaching awards, and has made several advances in the area of additive manufacturing and hybrid process planning.
Duncan has an MBA from the University of Windsor. He is also a self-published author of several children’s books. And, no, they are not related to additive manufacturing at all!
Hamoon has a M.A.Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He has experience in CAD, CAE, Additive Manufacturing, and the automotive industry. Hamoon is a self-professed coffee connoisseur.
Sandy has her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Egypt, and her M.Sc. in Materials Engineering, with a focus in additive manufacturing, from Canada. She enjoys outdoor activities, especially rock climbing and running.
Sima has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. She is interested in designing and implementing efficient algorithms for computational geometry problems and their approximation.
Dean has a Bachelor of Engineering Science from Western University. He is excited to help develop the software that will advance the manufacturing industry with additive manufacturing tools.
Dennis has an M.Eng. in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Wayne State University.
Syamak has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor. His research focuses on the thermo-elasto-plastic modeling of laser cladding simulations. He is conducting research that examines the rapid simulations of the elastoplastic material behaviors in melting/cooling of materials in toolpath scanning.
Elnaz is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Windsor.
Rahnuma Islam Nishat
Nishat has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Victoria, British Columbia. She is currently doing a postdoc at Ryerson University and CAMufacturing Solutions. She is interested in graphs and geometry. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her family, read books, watch movies, go to the beach, try new food, and travel (pre-COVID) among many other things.
